In late 2025, we were asked if we would like to supply artwork to the shop at Hangar 63 Coffee House, based at the Great North Air Ambulance HQ. We were very happy to do so, and it has been great to get to know some of the team there. Mikey was also asked to paint some artwork for them. Touching Lives is the original canvas that Mikey painted, and you can see watch this video of the painting in progress:
Each of the hearts on the painting represents 10 of the emergency callouts attended by GNAAS in 2025 (a total of 1,938). The artwork is a representation of the care and love shown by the whole team.
There are so many people who make each callout possible: the fundraisers, the office team, the paramedics, the doctors, the volunteers and staff in Hangar 63, the pilots, and so many people who all support GNAAS.
GNAAS can only exist with the love and care of a community, and to make this piece of artwork extra special, when it was very nearly finished, we took it into GNAAS HQ, and members of the team joined us to paint the last 20 hearts. This was so much fun and it means so much to us that some of the hearts on the painting were painted by the team:
The original canvas has been gifted to GNAAS, and if you are interested in buying the original, please contact them directly: support@gnaas.co.uk
It was great to be able to present the original canvas to Ben from GNAAS and to get so close to the helicopter!
Prints of the original are available at Hangar 63 or from us directly in our online shop. For every Touching Lives print that we sell, we will make a donation to GNAAS.
